All goods must be declared and all the corresponding customes duty must be paid at the customs office. www.douane.gouv.fr

Upon arrival in French Polynesia, you must declare all goods you are carrying with you and pay the relevant duties and taxes to the Customs Office. When arriving or leaving French Polynesia, certain goods are subject to specific regulations.

Tourist tax

Tourist tax of £0.80p/€1.25 per person per day for Star-rated hotels, cruise ships and all other accommodation with similar characteristics.
Tourist tax of £0.30/€0.42 per person per day for Non-rated Hotels and all other accommodation with similar characteristics.

These tourist taxes are payable for Papeete, Faa'a, Punaauia, Moorea-Maiao, Bora Bora, Huahine, Rangiroa, Mataiva, Tikehau, Raiatea and Taha'a. Exempt from this tax are children under twelwe staying with their parent and business travellers with a business identity card, during stay that is exclusively for business purposes. The length of stay for this category of exemption is 3 days.
