The people

Ia Orana, Maeva and Manava are the three words of greeting and welcome that the Polynesian wish their visitors.

This welcome is a legacy of the islands traditional legendary hospitality and is expressed through the singing of a joyful choir, accompanied by the guitar and the ukelele, when visitors arrive, and through the gift of a Tiare, the beautiful perfumed flower emblem of Tahiti and Her Islands. Polynesians are happy and proud of their islands.

This love of life is also expressed in their natural love of dancing, all kinds of dances, starting with their own, and for music that is expressed by polyphonic singing groups and in sacred religious hymns to the beat of the pahu and toere traditional drums, or even in the harmonies of the guitars and ukulele produced by kaina groups.
