Editorial Coverage - A taste of paradise
On Wednesday 13th April, travel media and trade attended an exclusive event hosted by Tahiti Tourisme at Trader Vic's restaurant and bar at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane for a taste of Tahiti and her Islands.
The evening commenced with Tahitian-inspired Mai Tai cocktails accompanied by an assortment of mouth watering canapés including salmon tartar, melba toast; deep fried kangkong leaves, spiced baked aubergine; and Maui seared tuna steak.
Guests were then encouraged to embrace the spirit of French Polynesia with a master class in traditional Tahitian dancing known as 'tamure'. Tahitian dancers and musicians dressed in traditional attire entertained the crowd before inviting guests to join in and learn the art themselves.
The evening was a great success and officially re-launched Tahiti Tourisme's presence within the UK market whilst educating travel media and trade on the stunning backdrops, range of activities and cultural offerings to be discovered among Tahiti and her magical islands.
